Question 1

What is GlanWick?

Accepted Answer

GlanWick is a platform for trading clarity: a trade journal, a realistic prop firm challenge simulator and AI-assisted market and chart analysis. The platform supplies data, scenarios and pattern recognition. The decisions stay yours. Interface and support are available in English and German.

Question 2

Is GlanWick a broker?

Accepted Answer

No. GlanWick does not execute trades and does not hold client funds. Your relationship stays with your existing broker. GlanWick only analyses the data you release to it.

Question 3

Does GlanWick give investment advice?

Accepted Answer

No. GlanWick is not an investment adviser, not an asset manager and not a financial services institution under German banking law. The platform presents setups, market data and patterns. It issues no buy or sell recommendations. Every decision remains your own responsibility.

Question 4

Who is GlanWick for?

Accepted Answer

For active traders who want to work on their own performance in a structured way, from beginners with prop firm ambitions to experienced traders who need a complete journal and pattern analysis across several brokers. Buy-and-hold investors get less out of it.

Question 5

Is there evidence that a trading journal works?

Accepted Answer

No provider can honestly say "scientifically proven", because trading journals themselves have never been tested for returns. What is documented is the foundation: behavioral finance research (Barber/Odean, Kahneman/Tversky) records the behavioral errors that cost traders money, and a meta-analysis of 138 experiments shows that systematic self-monitoring measurably improves goal attainment, especially in writing. The full research picture with all sources, including what they do not show, is at glanwick.com/why-journaling.

Question 6

How do I create an account?

Accepted Answer

Sign up with an email address and password, or use Google sign-in. You then confirm your email through the link in the message you receive. After that the full scope of your plan is available.

Question 7

How do I turn on two-factor authentication?

Accepted Answer

In your account settings under Security you enable 2FA with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password. Scan the QR code and confirm the first code.

Question 8

How do I reset my password?

Accepted Answer

On the sign-in page choose Forgot password, enter your email address and follow the link in the message you receive. The link is valid for 60 minutes.

Question 9

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Account settings under Account contain the Delete account function. Once confirmed, your personal data is irreversibly deleted within 30 days. Statutory retention periods for invoice-related records remain unaffected.

Question 10

Which brokers are supported?

Accepted Answer

The catalogue covers 32 brokers and exchanges. 19 of them sync automatically through a read-only API, among them Binance, Bybit, Kraken, Coinbase, OKX, Interactive Brokers, Trading 212, Alpaca and OANDA. Auto-sync is included in every plan, the Free plan too (1 broker account). Binance, Bybit and Kraken are battle-tested, the remaining API connections run as a beta; if something is off, your thumbs feedback after the import helps us fix it. Everything else comes in through CSV import, with ready-made profiles for MetaTrader and others. Providers without a self-service API such as eToro, Charles Schwab, tastytrade and Saxo Bank run through CSV by design. The current list lives in your broker settings.

Question 11

How do I connect my broker?

Accepted Answer

Under broker connections you pick your broker, follow the guide written for that specific provider and enter the API key you generated. Give the key read permissions only. Trading permissions are never needed.

Question 12

Is my broker API key stored securely?

Accepted Answer

Yes. API keys are stored server-side with AES-256 encryption and used only to read your data. They never appear in plain text in the frontend, in logs or in backups. The security page has the details.

Question 13

Can GlanWick execute trades for me?

Accepted Answer

No. GlanWick only ever requests read permissions. Even if you accidentally store a key that carries trading rights, it is used for read queries alone. Anything traded in the simulator is a simulation and never reaches a real market.

Question 14

Why do I only see some of my trades?

Accepted Answer

Most broker APIs only hand out history for a limited window, often 90 days. Older trades come in through a CSV upload from your broker's own backend. Some platforms also throttle the first sync, so the full history trickles in over several hours.

Question 15

What does GlanWick cost?

Accepted Answer

The trade journal is unlimited and free forever on the Free plan, simulator access included. If you want more depth, more AI analysis and higher limits, you move to a paid plan. Every plan and price is listed in the pricing section on the home page.

Question 16

What are credits and what do they pay for?

Accepted Answer

Credits are the unit of account for AI-heavy actions such as deep chart analysis, conversations with the AI mentor and automatic pattern reports. Paid plans include a monthly allowance. The Free plan has no monthly allowance. It gives you 50 welcome credits plus 5 more for every day you sign in. You can also buy credit packs. Purchased credits don't expire while your account exists.

Question 17

Can I pay monthly or yearly?

Accepted Answer

Both work. Paying yearly costs less than paying monthly. How much you save is shown on each plan.

Question 18

Which payment methods are accepted?

Accepted Answer

Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), SEPA direct debit and the usual wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, all handled by Stripe. Crypto payments are not available at the moment.

Question 19

How do I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

Account settings under Billing let you end your subscription with one click. Without signing in, the cancellation page at /kuendigen does the same. Your plan runs to the end of the period you already paid for, then the account moves to Free automatically. There is no minimum term and no notice period.

Question 20

What data does GlanWick collect?

Accepted Answer

Account data such as email and name, the trade and market data you bring in through broker connections or imports, and anonymised technical data for stability. The privacy policy carries the complete list.

Question 21

Is my trade data shared with third parties?

Accepted Answer

No. Your trade data goes to no ad networks, no data brokers and no other traders. It is processed only by the infrastructure providers named in the privacy policy, each under a data processing agreement.

Question 22

How do I request a data export?

Accepted Answer

Start the export yourself in your account settings, or request it by mail to contact@glanwick.com. You receive it as JSON and CSV within the statutory 30-day period.

Question 23

Which browsers does GlanWick work in?

Accepted Answer

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Brave. Internet Explorer and very old mobile browsers are out, because they lack the modern web APIs the platform relies on.

Question 24

Is there a mobile app?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. GlanWick runs as a progressive web app on phone and tablet and can be pinned to your home screen. A native iOS and Android app is planned, without a fixed date.

Question 25

How do I report a bug?

Accepted Answer

By mail to contact@glanwick.com with a short description, the page it happened on and a screenshot if you have one. Bugs in critical paths such as sign-in, broker sync and payment get looked at within 24 hours.

Question 26

What happens during an outage?

Accepted Answer

The state of the infrastructure and any ongoing incidents live on a separately hosted status page, linked from the status page here. Separately hosted so that it stays reachable even when GlanWick itself is down. For larger outages, registered users also get an email.
